Dining Room Table

New Yorker Cover

The table came from IKEA. The only reason I care is that their furniture often has a cheapness to it, which this table lacks - the wood is solid wood, and the finish is nice, and it was cheap. It's also quite plain, which works for me. It's a good place to sit and read, or eat.

I remember standing next to a table with my brother Will and noting that he could stand upright beneath it, whereas I could look over the top, sometime around 1972. This situation lasted only until I was 16, when Will gleefully noted that he was taller. It is to his everlasting credit that he's never taken advantage of that fact.
