The Kitchen

The kitchen is a nice 1930's sort of place, except for the cedar that covers the walls. The previous owner's son panelled the room sometime in the 1970's, and it shows. Everything is well rounded. I take comfort in the thought that it'll be easy to take down, someday, but I've seen the wallpaper that hides behind the refrigerator, and it's hideous. There are three layers of wallpaper. And some gross tiles around the sink. (2005 update - took down the cedar and painted the walls a light green. Also replaced the "gross tiles" with plain white.)

Aside from those little details, I like it. There's lots of counter space and storage, the refrigerator is pretty new (brought up from the basement - there were two refrigerators and a large freezer in the house when we moved in), and the maple floors are in good shape.
