This is the latest addition to the press collection. It's from Australia (thanks Nic!), though originally it came from England. Grey plastic, about four inches high, with a metal crank shaft. The logo has been knocked off. Turn the crank and the image or type is first smashed against the ink pad, then you turn the crank a little more to open the press up and flip the ink pad over -- that turns it into the impression bed - and you insert a piece of paper and crank a bit more. whew.
I thought this was a re-painted Lido Press from France, but it's not. Maybe the same company made it, but sold it under a different name? Lido made all sorts of plastic toys, not just presses, so I guess it's possible.
With this acquisition I'm left searching for just two more presses - the Lido printing press, and the Bing printing press. I don't expect to ever find the Bing, let alone be able to afford it, so I get to look without worrying that I'll miss it (it's just not there).

The type is clear rubber, so you can read the letters as you set it! Pretty cool.
