An Arcade toy that pumps water from the bucket below when you move the handle up and down. Might not actually "work" in the strictest sense of the word, as pumping is an exercise in futility, but it's cool, none-the-less. Cast iron, circa 1890, 6" tall. Got this at Kane Co. toy show as well; Richard Keane encouraged me to buy this - he encouraged everyone to buy everything they showed even the slightest interest in, and he was always supremely delighted to see whatever it was I'd bought at the end of the day. He'd ooh and ahh over the little details on a miniature press, or ask questions about a washing machine, or a series of glass slides.
Once we accidentally left the 70+ year old Richard out in the cold rain for over an hour, after we'd garbled our instructions on where everyone would meet up after the show. He didn't complain, but he must have been miserable. Chris just about killed himself over that one, but Dick lived a few more years, and we saw a couple more toy shows together. When Dick died Chris said a eulogy at the funeral. Dick's house was packed with stuff, everyone said, but he never let anyone in, not even Chris.
